Descendants of Mary Allen Carey at the Taste of Key West on Friday afternoon.

Emerson Allen and his family enjoy the fried fish and other tasty island goodies under the shade of a tree.

The Island Junkanoo Band is comprised entirely of Allen descendants, including Carla (wife), Kirk Allen, Harold Pelote, Joe Allen and Robert Pelote.

You can't resist the Junkanoo beat! Donna Allen Moore dances with her cousin, Kenny Carey, in the crowd as her daughter Alexandria looks on.

Bahamian cousins cool out in the shade after enjoying some of Key West's finest delicacies.

The food may be good, but it doesn't stop these folks from stopping to pose for a family picture: Theresa, Joseph, Tangela, Joe, and James.

Mark Glover (great-grandson of James A. Allen) with wife Shelley, enjoying a taste of Key West.

The Talent Show had a 1970s theme. We hadn't seen that many afros and bellbottoms in years! Descendants of Mary Allen Carey sang for the crowd.

It was a blast from the past! Renton Robertson does his impression of Marvin Gaye in the 70s - white shoes and all!

These kids definitely weren't alive in the 1970s, but that didn't stop Blake, Daniel, Keynu, DeAnna and Alexandria from joining the fun!

Rev. Leroy C. Allen, now deceased, enjoyed the 1970s themed music enough to cut the rug with niece Phyllis Allen Storr!

The Bahamian Allens weren't going to be left out! They taught us to "Shake It Up," and we all joined in!

Trevor, Trey and Troy Cooper, descendants of Rev. George W. Allen, perform an instrumental piece for the crowd. It was great!

Carmen & Mary Turner pose before Friday night's Fashion & Talent Show. They performed "Stop in the Name of Love" by the Supremes!

The 1970s themed Fashion & Talent Show featured plenty of acts from the '70s, including Mary, Joan Allen Leggett and Carmen as the Supremes!

Saturday's festivities began with a beach-side picnic at scenic Fort Taylor. Under the pines, we could enjoy the cool shade or a dip in the water.

Ft. Taylor is one of the prettiest places on the island, and the kids really enjoyed the beach!

Prime Minister Christie introduces Carmen to the Bahamas minister of tourism prior to making his entrance at the Allen Family Banquet.

Reunion founder Faye Carey Smith takes the podium to introduce Prime Minister Christie (an Allen descendant) before he delivers the keynote address.

After the banquet, the kids had a blast. Kenny, Joshua, Larry Jr. and Darshawn are descendants of Rev. George W. Allen of Key West.

The Sippio-Strapp family poses for a family photo after the banquet: (standing, from left) Cuore-e, Tomea, Janyce and Nikki.
